The final match of the Russian Cup will take place in Luzhniki on June 1
According to the regulations, the best teams from the RPL Path and the Regions Path will meet in the 2025 final. Last year, Baltika and Zenit from St. Petersburg met on the Luzhniki field, where the team led by Sergei Semak won. This season, Zenit will once again defend its title in this prestigious tournament.
The main stage of the Cup will be held from November 5, 2024 to June 1, 2025, and the playoffs will be conducted according to the elimination system after two defeats. The St. Petersburg club, one of the richest in the country, has approved a budget of 17 billion rubles, which allows it to acquire top players both in Russia and abroad. At the moment, after ten rounds, Zenit is in third place with 23 points, behind only Lokomotiv and Krasnodar. However, the tightness of the standings leaves intrigue for the remaining matches before the final, which will take place on May 24, 2025.
Zenit coach Sergei Semak will remain in this position until 2030. In December last year, players such as Goylo, Drkusic, Mimovich, Kotina and Du Queiroz returned to the squad from loan. Maxim Glushenkov, acquired from Lokomotiv, also recovered from injury. A strengthened squad and a new coaching approach make Zenit even stronger than last year, when they confidently beat Baltika. The question of whether they can win the Russian Cup again will soon be decided. Zenit currently have five such trophies and are aiming to add another one in 2025.
Attending the final at Luzhniki is not only an opportunity to see the country's strongest teams in action, but also a chance to support your favorite team in an important match.
