The final game of the Russian Cup of 2025 will again be held at the Luzhniki stadium
Last year, 108 teams joined the fight for the Russian Cup, having played a total of 164 matches. Together they scored 396 goals, and in the stands they were supported by more than a million fans - on average, seven thousand people per game. In the final, the Baltika and Zenit teams met. Let us recall how the events developed.
The score in the match was opened by the midfielder of the Kaliningrad team Alex Fernandez in the 40th minute. Until that moment, Zenit players confidently held the defense and controlled the ball. In the 81st minute, Nino equalized the score, and Nuraly Alip doubled the advantage, putting an end to this meeting. Zenit won the Cup for the fifth time in a row.
This season, the blue and white intends to fight for the prestigious trophy. The wards of Sergei Semak became even stronger, thanks to the acquisitions: Vanya Dr. from the “Tsrven Stars”, Luis Enrique from Botapogo for $ 22 million, Sasha Zalar from CSKA and Fenerbahce Fires strengthened the team. However, due to an epidemic of injuries in the team, Semak and the leadership of the club are looking for an extreme defender. Possible candidates are Alexander Silyanov from Lokomotiv and Wesley from Flmengo. Negotiations are also underway on the signing of Rodrigo Salasar from Braga, a talented Uruguayan midfielder who could become an adornment of an already powerful composition.
Zenit demonstrates excellent results in the regular season and, probably, will meet in the Krasnodar Cup, which confidently holds leading positions in the championship. “Bulls” pose a serious threat and are ready to challenge the Semak team.
