«Wings of the Soviets» - professional Russian football club, originally from Samara. Two-time finalist of the USSR Cup in 1953 and 1964, bronze medalist of the 2004 Russian Championship, finalist of the 2004 Russian Cup. In 2005, the team participated in the first round of the UEFA Cup.
The team was created in 1942 from workers of Moscow aviation industry factories who were evacuated to Kuibyshev. The first match took place on May 3, 1942. On July 30, 1944, the first game of “Wings of the Soviets” took place. in the USSR Cup. In 1946, on April 19, the team played its debut match in the top division of the USSR. He has been competing in the Russian Championship since 1992. In the 2017/18 season, the club received a new home ground, Samara Arena.
