Referee Igor Fedotov commented on the situation with the second ball before England's penalty
During the game, there was an episode on the field when, at the end of the first half of extra time, the British had the opportunity to take a penalty.
Igor Fedotov, the referee, gave a detailed comment on the incident. He reports that the hype raised because of the alleged "ignoring" of the second ball is not justified. Mckely did not resort to stopping the game and did everything right. The second ball did not interfere with the players in any way, did not distract them during the game, so by all the rules the game had to be continued.
