The match between the clubs started quite briskly. At the start, all the main players came out for the blue-whites - Lunev, Douglas Santos, Rakitsky, Chistyakov, Sutormin, Mostovoy, Wendel, Barrios, Malkom, Dzyuba and Driussi.
Already in the first half, Zenit had a huge number of chances at the opponent's goal. Under the attacks of the St. Petersburg team, the defense of the Volgograd team held on with difficulty, but nevertheless, the guests somehow repelled the attacks of the Zenit players with almost the entire squad. The blue-whites reached the opponent's penalty area quite easily and calmly exchanged passes, but the ball stubbornly did not want to go into the net. In the first half, it was obvious that "Rotor" intended to defend a goalless draw, but right before the break, Driussi forced Quercvelia to drive the ball into the net of his own goal after a shot.
In the second half, it became obvious that the Rotor was already pretty exhausted and the resource of the visiting team was gradually running out. What can not be said about the Zenit, who acted faster and sharper. Thus, in the 56th minute Malkom rolled the ball into the bottom corner - 2:0. Andrey Mostovoy scored the third goal, removing the intrigue of the winner of the match. But even here "Zenith" did not stop. In the 76th minute, "Rotor" missed for the fourth time, "Artem Dzyuba scored. Erokhin and Sutormin also scored goals, bringing the score to a crushing -6:0!
