Russian Premier League: Zenit defeated Khimki 2-0

On April 5, 2021, Zenit defeated Khimki in the match of the 24th round of the Tinkoff of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with a score of 2:0. The meeting was held at the Gazprom Arena stadium in St. Petersburg.

In the 9th minute of the match, Zenit striker Serdar Azmun scored a goal, but the referee did not count the goal because of a foul in the attack.

According to the rules, the score in the match was opened at 45+2 minutes. Defender Vyacheslav Karavaev scored a goal in the locker room. At the end of the second half (at 90+ 2 minutes), midfielder Andrei Mostovoy scored a goal.

Throughout the meeting, the blue-white-blues were more constructive in attack and created more scoring chances. That is why the final whistle of the referee recorded their undisputed victory.

It allowed Zenit to score 51 points and take first place in the standings. Khimki have 35 points in the asset and are in the ninth position.

Zenit will play Sochi away in the next round on April 11. Khimki will host Tambov on April 10 at home.
