Zenit unexpectedly loses to Rubin Kazan in an away game
Traditionally, the game began with the attacks of St. Petersburg. For the first 15 minutes, Zenit had scoring opportunities for Azmun and Karavaev, striking from different distances. Serdar hit the post twice in general – the ball stubbornly did not want to fly into the Kazan gate. The attackers of "Rubin" also struck a couple of aimed blows, checking the vigilance of Andrei Lunev.
The game gradually began to level out and at the 40th minute "Rubin" got a chance to come forward - thanks to the VAR system, chief referee Sergey Karasev determined the game with Daler Kuzyaev's hand. As a result, Despotovich flawlessly converted a penalty.
The second half began with the expected pressure of Zenit, which literally laid siege to the penalty area of the hosts. Despite the variety of efforts of the residents of St. Petersburg, all attacks rested on the defense of "Rubin", literally lined up in two rows.
In the 75th minute, Serdar Azmun finally got lucky, who closed Rakitsky's canopy with an accurate header. This was followed by the replacement of the guests - Krugovoy and Sutormin entered the game instead of Karavaev and Rakitsky.
The ending of the match turned out to be dramatic. Despite the full advantage of Zenit, the players of Rubin managed to snatch the victory. In the second added minute Denis Makarov landed right in the corner. In the last minutes, Zenit earned a penalty, which Dzyuba could not implement.
