Conference League semifinal games in full swing
The return leg of the Champions League semi-final between Fiorentina and Real Betis took place on May 8 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Last Sunday, Fiorentina lost to Roma in a Serie A match with a minimal score of 1:0. The only goal was scored before the break, and at the end of the game the hosts had a player sent off. Despite this, the statistics show that the team has not lost at home in the last thirteen matches of the Conference League. At the same time, Real Betis arrived in Florence after beating Espanyol (2:1) last weekend in La Liga. The visitors initially conceded in the 28th minute, but were already leading 1:0 by the break. In the second half, they allowed their opponents to equalize, but were able to snatch victory thanks to a goal in the last minutes. This victory became part of the team's five-match unbeaten streak in all competitions. In La Liga, they beat Girona and Valladolid, and also beat Fiorentina in a home match in the Conference League. They also drew 1-1 with Polish side Jagiellonia.
Fiorentina have reached the Conference League final twice, but both times they missed out on the top prize. For Betis, even reaching the semi-finals was a big deal. Under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini, the team is showing a confident game without unnecessary noise and is ready to surprise everyone at the finish line of the season.
In the last match, Gossens scored a double for the "violets", while Antoni and Eze Abde scored for the guests from Sevilla.
