This season, London club Chelsea is considered the main favorite to win the 2024-25 Conference League
The first stage of the 1/8 finals was played on March 6 and 13. The top eight teams included Chelsea (England), Victoria (Portugal), Fiorentina (Italy), Rapid (Austria), Djurgården (Sweden), Lugano (Switzerland), Legia (Poland) and Cercle Brugge (Belgium). Despite a successful start, Jagiellonia (Poland) failed to advance to this stage, losing its place to Legia. The top three teams now include Chelsea, Victoria and Fiorentina, with the British club comfortably leading, leaving its rivals far behind. Last season, the championship title went to Olympiacos (Greece), who beat Fiorentina in the final in Athens with a minimal score of 1:0. However, this season, the British have every chance of winning.
Under the leadership of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea have collected the maximum eighteen points in six matches and scored twenty-six goals, without a single defeat or draw. The London team demonstrates flexibility in tactics, using 5-3-2 or 4-4-2 formations, which allows them to successfully adapt to the style of play of their opponents. They effectively combine long and short passes, which brings them success against less well-coordinated teams. Chelsea's star-studded squad includes such bright players as forward Marc Guiou, who scored six goals, and Christopher Nkou Nkou, who scored five goals in the group stage. The French striker, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig, is having his best seasons at Chelsea. In addition, the Ukrainian winger was named the best player in the match against Panathinaikos, where Chelsea won with a score of 4:1.
Visiting the Conference League final at the Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw is a unique opportunity to see live how the strongest European clubs fight for a prestigious trophy.
