This year, the 70th season of the main European football championship among clubs is being held under the Swiss system for the first time
Last tournament winners Real Madrid once again confirmed their high class by beating Atletico in a penalty shootout and securing a place in the quarter-finals. The decisive goal in the 55th minute was scored by Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz, which brought the team a confident victory.
According to the rules of the Champions League, the winner of the tournament automatically gets the right to play in the next draw in 2026 and will have the opportunity to compete for the UEFA Super Cup in 2025.
