This year, the 70th season of the main European football championship among clubs is being held under the Swiss system for the first time
Last tournament winners Real Madrid once again confirmed their high class by beating Atletico in a penalty shootout and securing a place in the quarter-finals. According to the rules of the Champions League, the winner of the tournament automatically gets the right to play in the next draw in 2026 and will have the opportunity to compete for the UEFA Super Cup in 2025.
