The Russian Football Cup Superfinal will be held in Moscow
In the 2022/2023 season, the winner of the Russian Cup once again, already the 8th in history, was the club CSKA.
Two pairs of participants in the semi-finals of the RPL Path, which will be held in mid-April, have already been determined. This is "CSKA" and «Baltika», as well as «Zenith» and "Spartak". Based on the results of the draw for the matches of the first stage ½ finals of the Path of Regions of the Russian Cup, the following pairs were formed: «Dynamo»–«Orenburg» and "Ural",–«Rostov".
The matches will take place on April 16–18. The winners of the pairs will advance to the next stage of the Regional Path, where they will play with the losers in the pairs of the RPL Path.
We would like to remind you that in the 2022/2023 season the Russian Cup was held using a double elimination system. The tournament was divided into two parts — The RPL Path and the Regions Path. For the first time, media teams were included in the participants. The same system has been maintained in the current season. This system made the competition for the Russian Cup more interesting and gave teams from lower leagues the opportunity to compete for a valuable trophy.
For example, "Rubin" was the first of the RPL clubs to stop fighting for the trophy, and "Ural", which is already in the play-off zone, continues to fight until the last played "Khimki" from the Second League.
