Eduard Streltsov Stadium

Eduard Streltsov Stadium, also known as "Torpedo," is a sports complex located on Vostochnaya Street in Moscow’s Danilovsky District. The arena is a landmark in the history of Russian football and is designed to host sporting competitions and events for spectators.

The complex comprises several sports facilities. At its center is a multi-purpose arena featuring a football pitch with natural turf and a heating system. The pitch is equipped with floodlights and scoreboards that display match progress. In addition to the football infrastructure, the site includes courts for basketball and the traditional Russian game of gorodki, an outdoor tennis court, an ice rink (in winter), halls for boxing and wrestling, as well as various training, administrative, and technical buildings. The venue hosts football matches and track-and-field competitions.

The stadium has undergone several phases of reconstruction. Until 1976, spectators were accommodated on a single grandstand built into the slope next to the pitch. Ahead of the 1980 Olympic Games, the facility was significantly transformed, with its capacity increased to 16,000. Another renovation took place in 1998, when wooden benches were replaced with plastic seats, bringing the total capacity to 10,450. In 2013, the arena was awarded a UEFA Category 1 rating, enabling it to host matches within the Russian football championship.

The stadium holds a special significance due to its association with the Moscow-based club "Torpedo."

For fans, home matches offer a chance to watch the players in action, support their favorite team, and share the excitement with fellow supporters. The venue also features spaces for socializing after matches, as well as a shop selling club merchandise.Today, the Eduard Streltsov Stadium remains a prominent landmark in the capital’s sporting landscape.
