Akhmat Arena

The Akhmat Arena stadium in Grozny is also known as the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Sports Complex. It is the home arena of the Terek football club. The stadium was built in 2006 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Construction under the Federal Target Program lasted about five years and only in the spring of 2011 the multifunctional sports arena was put into operation.

The Akhmat Arena consists of two parts. First, it is the western stand, which can simultaneously accommodate about 9 thousand fans. Second, the eastern stand, which can accommodate up to 21 thousand football fans. There are also special places for people with disabilities.

This is one of the safest stadiums in Russia. It has a modern video surveillance system, which includes more than 400 cameras.

The sports complex has no analogues in the south of Russia in its architectural design and modern equipment. All work was carried out under the supervision of observers from UEFA and FIFA. After its grand opening, the stadium became the asset and face of the republic. Its walls can host European and world-class sports competitions.

The stadium has 15 TV positions, 20 seats for sports commentators, 206 seats for media representatives in the Western Stand, as well as two press centers with a capacity of about 200 people, one press box and a large hall for press conferences with a capacity of about 100 people. In total, the stadium can accommodate 30,597 spectators.
