St. Petersburg will host the Euro 2020 match
On April 23, 2021, great news was waiting for all football fans and the entire Russian public. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has officially announced on its website that St. Petersburg will host seven Euro 2020 matches.
This became possible after the decision to move three matches of the Euro 2020 group stage from Dublin in Ireland to the Russian city. This decision is primarily due to the more favorable epidemiological situation in our country.
The following matches will now be played at the Gazprom Arena stadium:
- On June 12, the Belgian national team will play against Russia
- Poland will face Slovakia on June 14
- On June 16, the Finnish national team will play with Russia
- Sweden will play a match against Slovenia on June 18
- June 21 Finland – Belgium
- Sweden vs Poland match will take place on June 23
- The 1/4 finals match will be held on July 2
Also, in addition to these changes, four matches of the tournament were moved from Bilbao to Seville. One match of the 1/8 finals is scheduled in London instead of Dublin. Munich was finally approved, which was able to provide matches with spectators. All changes in the venues of the Euro finals matches meet all the necessary requirements of UEFA.
