Description
Lincoln Financial Field is a modern stadium in South Philadelphia, home to the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and the Temple University Temple Owls. Opened in 2003, the stadium seats up to 69,176 spectators and features the innovative Desso GrassMaster surface. The architectural design was developed by NBBJ and Agoos Lovera Architects, and construction was completed by Turner Construction at a cost of $512 million. The facility became the new home of the Philadelphia Eagles following the demolition of Veterans Stadium in 2004. In 2010, the stadium also hosted matches of the Philadelphia Union FC, a Major League Soccer club. The stadium is known for hosting the Army-Navy Game and is one of five stadiums that hosts both professional NFL teams and college football.
