Description
The Smena Stadium in Saint Petersburg is a modern sports arena located on the territory of the Gazprom Academy at 21 °C Vernosti Street. The stadium is the home arena of the Zenit women’s football team and can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators. The field dimensions are 105×68 meters, and the natural grass is made using advanced technologies similar to those used at the Gazprom Arena.
The history of the stadium begins in 1968, when it was built together with a famous football school. In 2018, during the FIFA World Cup, the stadium served as a reserve arena for training of national teams. After the tournament, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out, increasing the capacity and modernizing the infrastructure.
The renovated stadium opened on August 6, 2019 with a match between the youth teams of Zenit and Barcelona, where the St. Petersburg team won. Excellent transport accessibility — the nearest metro station is «Akademicheskaya» — makes visiting the arena convenient for spectators. There are ticket offices, storage rooms and food outlets on the stadium grounds.
The Smena stadium hosts matches not only of the women’s team, but also of the Zenit-m and Zenit-2 teams. For information on the schedule and event poster, visit our website. Here you can also buy tickets for upcoming games.
